Two shoddy pieces of defending saw Corinthian Casuals lose 2-1 at Banstead Athletic and drop to the foot of Ryman League Division One on Saturday, writes Nick Overend.

Billy Jackson put Casuals in front but two goals from Kwabena Agyei, the second in injury time, gave Banstead the three points.

The hosts had the first chance after 15 minutes when Chris Horwood misjudged a long ball, but Agyei shot wide.

Three minutes later, Tony Blunt's cross was volleyed back across Banstead's goal by Simon Shergold, but Simon Moore's header went straight at keeper Andy Parkinson.

Chris Malik stole the ball in midfield from Ollie Young before crossing for Shergold, who blazed over from 20 yards.

Casuals took the lead when Sam Hewitt's long throw was met by Jackson's header.

Moore might have doubled the visitors' lead on the stroke of half-time, but he shot just wide from the edge of the box. The same player was put through three minutes after the break, but a poor first touch allowed Parkinson to smother the ball.

Casuals were struggling to deal with Banstead's crosses, and Agyei took advantage to fire home the equaliser.

But they continued to create chances, but were unable to press home their advantage.

The reserves' top scorer Edeosa Omoregie came on with nine minutes left and proved a lively. But Casuals' hard work was undone in the 89th minute when keeper Gareth Williams could only parry John Fowler's shot and Agyei turned home the loose ball.

Chessington & Hook drew 1-1 at home by Sandhurst Town in the Combined Counties Premier Division.

Glen Nichols gave Chessington a 40th-minute lead from the penalty spot, before Peter Mulvaney netted after 72 minutes to earn the visitors a share of the spoils.
