THE anti-climax of a snowed-off FA Cup tie against fourth division Peterborough was cast aside a day later as Wycombe Wanderers learned they have the chance of a Third Round tie against second division Port Vale.
After all the hype, the winter's first snow meant it was a case of all dressed up with nowhere to play.
The match was rescheduled at Adams Park. The Blues and Peterborough weather permitting were battling for the right to visit Port Vale of the second division.
With the snow hitting Wycombe late on Saturday morning, referee Mr I Borrett was unable to call off the first ever sell-out at Adams Park until 11.45am.
This meant many supporters, the entire BBC Match of the Day crew, and the Peterborough players' coach all made the journey in vein.
