THE family and friends of a Lane End man who died after a two vehicle collision in Cadmore End have paid tribute to their “dear brother in arms” who had a “passion for life.”

Barry Eastwood from Johnson Road was riding a blue Yamaha motorbike towards Cadmore End when it was in collision with a white LDV pick-up on the B482 Marlow Road at the junction with Bigmore Lane.

The 34-year-old was born in Cheshire and had lived in Lane End for the last three years.

Barry's family said: “Every life he touched he enriched hugely, through his selfless, kind and serving nature, lively good humour, and passion for life.

“He enjoyed a wide variety of past-times including falconry, riding his Yamaha Fazer "Bertha", indoor climbing, walking dogs for the local rescue home and putting his gifted knowledge of information technologies, mechanics and building to use in helping out his friends with a unique generosity and wit.”

He leaves behind his parents Barry and Heather, sister Shelley, step-brothers Gavin and Alex, step-sister Katrina, step-mother Diane, nephews Adam, Thomas, Oliver, Harry, James and Finlay, nieces Annabelle, Daisy and Jemima and his loving fiancée Pavla.

Barry's most recent employer was SpinVox, where he worked as a network operations incident manager, and his former employer was Bloomberg. He was also part of the Fazer Owners' Club.

His family added: “An irreplaceable light has gone from this world, and we are all left with a void that will fill with so many happy thoughts and memories of our dear brother in arms. Words cannot express how much he will be missed.”

Barry's neighbour Joanne Myerson said: “He was a fantastic guy and a brilliant neighbour. He will be greatly missed.

“He would do anything for anyone if he could.”

His funeral is on May 6 at 12pm at St Helen's Parish Church in Witton, Cheshire which will be followed by a cremation at Walton Lea Crematorium which family and very close friends are invited to.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the collision which happened on Friday April 23 at around 4.45pm.

Police said the driver of the pick-up was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and had been bailed until June 11.
