A CONSERVATIVE election hopeful has revealed the soundtrack to his election campaign.

Wycombe candidate Steve Baker posted 17 tracks of choice on his blog, under the heading: 'A modest General Election playlist'.

The list features a strong hard-rock bias with tracks from Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and Van Halen.

There are also nods to his penchant for skydiving with the likes of Aerosmith's 'Livin' on the Edge' and Tom Petty's 'Free Fallin''.

Yet he said he “would have included more Rage Against the Machine but their language is distinctly unparliamentarily”.

Commenter 'prs24' suggesting he should have included Fleetwood Mac's 'Man of the World' to “represent the current nanny state”.

He chose:

Julie London – Cry Me a River.

Antony and the Johnsons – Bird Guhl.

Aerosmith – Livin' on the Edge.

Cat Power – I Found a Reason.

Tom Petty – Free Fallin'.

Overseer – Doomsday.

Paloma Faith – Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful.

Foo Fighters – The Pretender.

Overseer – Velocity Shift.

Van Halen – Humans Being.
