A DIDGERIDOO playing artist and a hot air balloon ride put a swing in the step of golfers as they raised cash for charity.

A Rolf Harris signed photograph was one of the headline auction items at Hazlemere Golf Club where a day of sport and dinner swelled the coffers of a Buckinghamshire organisation by £1,000.

Alchohol and drug help charity Oasis run projects around the county, with staff in High Wycombe and Aylesbury.

It was given £50 for the picture of the Australian entertainer, while a hot air balloon ride across Aylesbury, a kids party trip to a fire station and tickets for the Swan Theatre in High Wycombe also brought in funds.

Chief Executive Colin McGregor-Paterson said: “We were very pleased it was so much better than we thought it would be. Hazlemere Golf Club was fantastic to allow us to host it.

“The intention was to raise awareness and money came after that.”

He thanked businesses from the area which donated towards the auction or gave prizes for the raffle which raised £600.

These included John Lewis, Staples, Yo Sushi, Swan Theatre, Elite Limos, Rush hairdressers, GMTV and Gerrards Cross Golf Club.
