A NEW cycle path connecting the two Chalfont villages was officially opened today.
Cyclists, walkers and joggers all gathered at the Chalfonts Community College for the grand unveiling this morning.
The new path connects Chalfont St Giles with the College and the Leisure Centre, both of which are in Chalfont St Peter.
It finally opened after a three-year battle to get funding and planning permission.
Karoline Lamb from Chalfont St Peter Parish Council said: “I think everyone is surprised how beautiful and well finished it all is.
“There is now no reason to use the car to get to the Community College or to the Leisure Centre. We should all get fitter, save money and at the same time enjoy the beautiful countyside.”
