A MAJOR search operation is underway as police bid to find a vulnerable man missing from his Amersham home.

Allen Marchant, who has severe short-term memory loss and is described as being at a high risk as he is “unlikely” to be able to find his way home.

The 53-year-old was last seen at his home in Chesham Road at about 11pm on Saturday.

Police looking for Mr Marchant have urged residents to check sheds, outbuildings and gardens as he may be taking shelter there. Residents have also been asked to look inside as Mr Marchant won’t respond when he is called and won’t engage in conversation.

He has severe short-term memory loss and is without his medication.

Police say he does not have any money on him and is unlikely to be able to find his way home.

Mr Marchant was wearing a navy fleece, dark trousers and slippers when he was last seen. He is described as being 5ft 10ins tall, of a heavy build and having greying hair and blue eyes.
