AN INDIAN takeaway in Gerrards Cross was broken into and trashed over the weekend.
The owner of The Purple Mango on Packhorse Road has been left with a massive clean-up job after the incident on Sunday morning but said “we have to be strong and move on”.
He said the counter and shop front were completely destroyed, while electric cables were ripped out and a 40 inch plasma TV smashed. The break-in happened while the takeaway was closed, he said.
Ripon Miah, the owner, said: “It was pretty horrifying - there was an immense amount of damage.
"We are having to start again from scratch with new fittings and everything.
“We are good neighbourhood people and you don't expect this kind of thing in Gerrards Cross. We have to be strong and move on.”
He expects to finish the refurbishment in the next two days and reopen on Thursday.
Police attended the incident and described it as a civil dispute. They will not be taking any action.
