I READ the article in your paper about the Bucks New Uni final shows, and thought it’d be good to go and have a look. We’ve been several years in a row, and it is always good. I was also curious to see inside the new building which looks so great from outside.

We went along this evening (June 15) at 5.30pm, but unfortunately discovered the show is only on from 10am-4pm each day and we can’t get there that early, because like most people, we work. Either the college is not interested in being part of the community, or they are such an ivory tower that they have no idea that the people who paid for the building are at work during the few ‘college hours’ they are prepared to open it.

This has not been the case in previous years – we have definitely been in the evening.

Even our sons who are at school and interested in Art and DT could not get there before it closes, which does beg the question of who the show is meant to be for – not for pupils who might be interested in becoming their future students, it seems, nor for many of the would-be punters who might have bought some of the stuff on show, thus helping the students reduce their huge debts.

Maybe managers would reconsider the opening times next year.
