PRESTWOOD Infant School has become the first in Buckinghamshire to receive a Gold “Sing Up” award.
So far around 16,000 schools in Britain have signed up to the government campaign to place singing at the heart of school life – but fewer than 100 schools nationally have achieved the award.
Headteacher Jean O'Keeffe ensured that every child and member of staff was involved in the singing programme.
The school's 170 children, who sing regularly at the popular Little Missenden Festival and also to local community groups, celebrated their success by performing a playground concert.
