A COUPLE in their sixties had a torch shone in their face and were threatened by a man who demanded they hand over their money as they walked home from a friend's house.
The couple were walking home along Cryers Hill Lane, close to the junction with Brimmers Hill, at 1.50am on Monday when they were approached by a man.
The man shone a torch in their faces, threatened them, and demanded they hand over their money and belongings.
But as the man made his move, a vehicle approached and the man ran off empty-handed.
The man is described as white, with a 'young sounding voice', 5ft 8ins tall and wearing a light coloured hooded top at the time of the attempted robbery.
Police say they are keeping an 'open mind' about the incident as they believe it may be linked to the robbery of a 16-year-old in Naphill on Saturday evening (see link).
Contact police on 0845 8 505 505 or the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111 with any information on this incident.
