SAUNDERTON residents are looking at ways to combat the problem of commuters blocking their residential road when they use the village's train station.

Concerned householders in Saunderton Vale arranged a meeting to discuss the options available to stop commuters parking there.

Wycombe District Councillor David Devine, who lives in the street, said the station's car park gets full early on resulting in drivers parking on the residential road.

He said: “This is the fourth year. It has got to the point of being ridiculous. We had 29 cars in a row al the way down one side of the road.

“Drivers are inconsiderately parking. The parking in our stretch of road is on chicanes and bends of roads.”

He said problems have also arisen with bin lorries trying to get down the road and school buses.

Options being looked at are putting in single yellow lines where Monday to Friday people cannot park between 12-1pm. This would mean commuters could not leave their cars there all day.

Another option would be resident's parking permits.

Buckinghamshire County Councillor Paul Rogerson is investigating these options.

Jennifer Payne, Head of Customer Services and South Stations at Chiltern Railways attended the meeting.

Spokesman for Chiltern Railways Emma Gascoigne said: "We welcomed the opportunity to attend the meeting and listen to these concerns. We are working with the local residents and council on defining a solution to the current situation."
