A CURRY house owner in Marlow has paid tribute to his three key mottos after being honoured at a high-profile awards ceremony.
Abdul Rob, from Tiger Garden Restaurant on West Street, was presented with the ‘outstanding restaurateur’ accolade at the House of Lords.
Marlow’s MP Dominic Grieve QC and immigration minister Damian Green MP attended the celebration held at Cholmondeley Rooms and Terrace, which overlooks the Thames.
The restaurant has been open for 11 years and Mr Rob heralded the important qualities which he believes helped him win the award.
“Firstly, you have to work with honesty and then you have to work hard,” said the owner who has been in Marlow for almost 30 years.
“And thirdly you need to have the courage to do something in the first place.
“I was really pleased to win the award because it’s never easy running a business.”
