BUCKINGHAMSHIRE residents are being encouraged to take part and attend Chiltern vintage tractor rally in aid of the Thames Valley Air Ambulance.

The event, taking place on Sunday May 15, is run by local tractor group The Ferguson Club.

The group has been running for 25 years and has almost 2000 members.

The run is 25 miles long, travelling through the scenic Chilterns countryside, and will start at 9.30am opposite the Bull & Butcher Pub, Turville, Henley-on-Thames.

They plan to return to the same location at 4.00pm.

Any tractors wishing to take part must be in a roadworthy condition, uses legal fuel and have the relevant Road Traffic Act Insurance.

A discounted lunch is on offer for competitors.

Thames Valley Air Ambulance runs a voluntary air ambulance service for Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire seven days a week, 24 hours a day.

Half of the accidents they deal with are road traffic accidents and air ambulances services nationwide are the busiest emergency service in the country.

However costs are high at £165,000 every month and they receive no funding from central government.

Optional sponsorship forms are also available for those who wish to raise extra funds for the Air Ambulance.
