THE Castlefield area of High Wycombe was hit by yet another arson attack over the weekend.

Police say they are stepping up patrols in the area and are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information after a shed fire on Friday night at around 9pm.

Deputy Area Commander, Ch Insp Colin Seaton, said: “This latest fire in Rutland Avenue comes a month after the last one and it is now time for the community to come together and talk to us.

“It is important for residents to remember that if they come forward they won’t be alone and we will offer as much support as we can.

“Witnesses have told us that there was possibly a group of three or four teenagers in the area a few minutes before the fire and I would like to speak to these people to see if they have any information that could help with the investigation.

“I also appeal to anyone who was in the area and saw these teenagers, or any suspicious behaviour, to come forward and talk to us.

“My message is clear. Please don’t let these people intimidate you, come and speak to us and tell us what you know. We are doing all that we can but we need you to give us information so that we can make arrests and ultimately prosecute whoever is responsible.”
