A 24-YEAR-OLD man was arrested last night after a crash on the M40 through Loudwater.

Police were called at 12.02am to reports that a red Peugeot 205 had left the southbound carriageway just before junction 3.

It is thought the vehicle may have collided with a Toyota Yaris on the carriageway before travelling up an embankment.

One of the occupants of the Peugeot, a 24-year-old man, was arrested and remains in police custody.

The other occupant of the car was taken to hospital with a suspected broken ankle.
