THE website for the new festival in Penn Street is officially up and running and tickets are now on sale.

The organisers have been planning the festival since last Summer and have an impressive line-up which has generated a good response.

Manjit Jaspal and Nick Billinghurst said most people seem genuinely excited at the prospect of having a family friendly music festival on their doorstep.

On the bill are Dodgy known for Staying Out For The Summer and Good Enough, The Farm, Snap! who perform Rhythm Is A Dancer, Boomtown Rats and Doctor and The Medics- best known for Spirit In The Sky.

Manjit said: “ We knew we wanted a mix of national headline acts and new, up and coming bands and set about calling everyone and anyone we felt would fit the bill.”

He said after a lot of chasing up they are thrilled with the final line up. Ha said he was most looking forward to seeing the Boomtown Rats.

Manjit said: “They were the first band I really got into at school - I can still remember wearing a BTR badge on my school blazer. They still play all their massive hits and I can't wait to see them.”

Not only will there will old names but also up and coming bands including Pearl and the Puppets, who recently supported The Hoosiers, Danny and The Champions of the World and Ella Chi, who performed at Glastonbury last year.

There will also be street theatre, creative workshops, cinema, open air yoga and more to create a family friendly atmosphere. People can camp at the site.

Manjit said: “In addition to the music, there will be lots to do at the festival including creative workshops for the kids, street entertainers and performers, a cinema tent, disco tent, open air yoga class, fabulous food from around the world and a bar.

“It is set in a truly stunning, beautiful location in Penn Street and we offer a fabulous opportunity to camp in the open countryside - with the luxury of hot showers and toilets.”
