HOSPICE Aid UK has thanked Beaconsfield shoppers after its director Garry Campbell collected £854 in donations on March 11 and 12 on Station Road. In another collection at Waitrose in Beaconsfield on March 17, the Youth Cancer Trust raised £160, which will help towards giving young people with cancer a free holiday in Bournemouth.

DORMICE Conservation in Britain will be the topic for a talk at St Thomas Church in Holtspur on Friday, April 8. Ian White, Dormice Officer for The People's Trust for Endangered Species will be the guest, with refreshments included in the £3 ticket. From 8 – 10pm in the church hall on Mayflower Way. GERRARDS Cross Women's Club meets on April 6 and the first Wednesday of each month at the Memorial Centre at 2.30pm. THE mobile library comes to Seer Green today (Friday). It will be at Seer Green School between 2.55 – 3.35pm and at the shops from 3.40 – 4pm. It is due at The Green in Jordans from 11.25 – 11.55 on Thursday, April 7.

A CHEESE-makers market is set to come to Beaconsfield Old Town all day on Saturday, April 9. Alain Roux, chef at the Waterside Inn at Bray will open the event and Alex James, of the pop band Blur, will be showing off his newest cheeses.
