A POP trio who had got used to performing in front of thousands with mega star Justin Bieber were left baffled when just a handful of kids turned up to their gig in Bourne End.
Wye Valley School on New Road had organised for SoundGirl to play a short set on Friday afternoon, but the group were left playing to an almost empty school hall.
The girls had just played a series of gigs supporting Justin Bieber at the O2 Arena in London.
Group member Olivia, 17, told the Bucks Free Press: “Being completely honest there was about eight people that came and watched with the teacher. It was quite disappointing.
“We were confused that it was an after-school show....no one really knew about it.”
Simon Farrow, head of music at the New Road secondary, said: “As very few students turned up after school last Friday, it proved disappointing for SoundGirl.
"However, the group used the contracted time to perform their set and used it as a rehearsal for bigger things to come.
“We tread a fine line between success and failure at these events when they are held out of school hours as we are dealing with up and coming bands rather than names.”
