THERE was still some uncertainty surrounding the future of the Princes Risborough day care centre although one councillor said he was “quietly confident.”

Council chiefs agreed last week to work with community groups in Princes Risborough to keep the centre in Clifford Road, which also includes a Red Cross Centre, running.

Buckinghamshire County Council is transforming the way the centres are run across the county with some being forced to close and opening six new centres.

At Tuesday night's meeting of Princes Risborough Town Council Cllr Carl Etholen, who is also a county councillor, said the business plan for the Risborough centre must remain confidential as there it contains commercially sensitive information.

He said they are trying to finalise figures to put the business case forward to cabinet in May.

He added: “I am still quietly confident it will continue to run. The only difference will be instead of Bucks County Council providing this service various community groups will be.

“We are moving forward but at a snails pace if you can bear with us.”

Cllr Reg Orsler asked what is going to happen to the the people who rely on the service and as representatives of the town he said fellow town councillors should know the details.

Cllr Gary Hall also questioned why it had to remain confidential
