A ROGUE advertisement van without a license was towed away in a Buckinghamshire town centre.
The van had been stationed on the sidewalk at St Mary’s Way roundabout in Chesham for weeks.
Action to remove it by the Buckinghamshire Council parking enforcement team was taken on January 9 after weeks of “wrangling”, Chesham resident Lee Evans Birding said.
He said: “The vehicle was illegally parked and very dangerous for pedestrians crossing the road.
“It should have been removed immediately and not after seven weeks of wrangling. There are 14 other vehicles that were marked up as a result of having no tax in September which are still parked illegally in Chesham.”
He claimed the illegally parked ad van had 11 parking tickets before its removal.
Advertisement on its side included the recently opened Brim Burgers, which led to criticism of the burger joint online on OurChesham Facebook group.

However, since Brim Burgers said it uses an outsourced company Ad Van UK the restaurant didn't comment further.
Buckinghamshire Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport Steven Broadbent commented: “We are unable to comment on specific details of a case, but our main goal with parking enforcement is to encourage compliance with the parking restrictions through education and the issuing of Penalty Charge Notices, whilst preserving a motorist's right to appeal. Where appropriate we may escalate action to remove a vehicle, in accordance with legal guidelines.”
Ad Van UK was contacted for a comment.
