Detectives investigating the mysterious and shocking discovery of human remains near a motorway slip road one month ago are no closer to identifying the man.

The “remains” of a man were discovered at the side of the A404, M40 slip road, near the Handy Cross roundabout, on February 3 during the search for a runaway dog.

High Wycombe resident Chris Harris and two police officers unwittingly stumbled across the body in the middle of the day, sparking a major investigation.

Days after the grisly discovery, police confirmed they were treating the death as unexplained, but not suspicious, and were trawling through missing persons records in a bid to identify the man.

And, one month on, following persistent requests by Bucks Free Press reporters for an update, it has now emerged that the police investigation has not yet unearthed any more details.

Thames Valley Police told the Free Press the man is still yet to be identified and they are awaiting the results of more forensic tests.

If you have any information which could help the investigation, call police on 101.
