Police have released a CCTV image following a spate of armed store raids across the county.

Gun and machete-wielding robbers targeted a number of convenience stores across Buckinghamshire and Berkshire, including one in Marlow.

It started at the Tesco Express store, in Tring Road, Wendover at 11.30pm on Saturday. A man was armed with a machete, demanded money from the safe and made off with cash from the store.

Then, at around 5.45am on Sunday, a man, armed with a small handgun, entered the One Stop in Marlow Bottom Road, Marlow, and demanded money.

He was unable to access any cash from the store and ran off.

The most recent incident was at 6.40am yesterday where a man entered the Co-operative on Wokingham Road, Earley, armed with a small handgun.

He made off with cash from the store.

No one was injured in any of the attacks.

Detective inspector Jonathan Groenen, of Force CID based at Newbury police station, said: “I would like to speak to the person shown in the CCTV image as he may have important information about the robberies.

“Please get in touch if you are this man or recognise him or his clothing.

“Detectives are continuing to investigate these incidents which we are currently treating as linked.

“Thankfully no one was injured in any of the robberies however they caused distress to the victims.

“As a result of the incidents people in the affected local communities may see an increased police presence whilst we continue to investigate.

“If anyone has a dash cam and was driving past any of these locations around the time of these incidents please check the footage and come forward.”
