Bingo halls across England have been given the green light to reopen across England in July.

From Saturday July 4, many businesses and venues will be allowed to reopen but will be expected to follow COVID-19 Secure guidelines.

These include - hotels, places of worship, libraries and bingo halls.

Although details have not been released officially, plans have been put in place over the last few weeks by bingo club operators in the UK.

What are Mecca Bingo doing?

At Mecca Bingo, staff have been working hard to give customers the highest possible standards of health and safety before the big Mecca Bingo reopen.

Training has been provided on a number of safety measures, including social distancing, use of hand sanitizers, and going contactless wherever and whenever possible.

A statement on the company’s website said: “We can’t wait to welcome you back to Mecca Bingo clubs across the country, and since closing our doors our teams have been working round the clock to ensure we have put in place the highest standard of health and safety measures for our customers and team to be able to continue to enjoy the Mecca fun they know and love.

“We continue to follow the Government’s guidance closely and will share further information on our re-opening plans soon.

“Our teams have been working round the clock to put in a place the highest standard of health and safety measures to ensure the safety of you and our teams.

“All of our team have undergone training on all safety measures, these include social distancing in club, a capacity cap, enhanced cleaning, hand sanitiser stations, going contactless where possible and new protective screens.”

What rules will customers need to follow?

They advise that when they open, they will encourage all customers to use contactless payment wherever possible but will still accept cash in all of its 86 UK bingo halls.

Signage will be visible throughout the club to help direct customers and some tables and slot machine may not be in use.

The spokesman added: “The entry and exit to our clubs will be managed in a safe and controlled manner to ensure people feel safe when visiting Mecca clubs.

“To ensure social distancing within the club, there may be times when customers are asked to queue outside to respect this."
