Four schoolchildren had big shoes to fill this week as they took the reins and had the opportunity to be the mayor of High Wycombe for a day.
Dressed-up in the mayor’s robes and joined by three others who acted as deputy mayor and mayoress amongst other roles, the youngsters experienced what life would be like in the traditional role on Tuesday.
Current town mayor, councillor Mohammed Hanif, organised the event to bridge the gap which he had noticed between the mayoralty and the young.
As well as sitting in the traditional weigh-in chair, they also took part in the Beating of the Bounds ceremony.
Involved in the event were youngsters, Sophie Smith, Ryan Burke, Aimee Sunday and Usman Hussain.
