Over the last two weeks in the BFP we have sadly heard of three cyclists dying on Bucks roads.
Why then is Bucks Council encouraging students to get on their bikes and cycle to school?
I think they should actually be saying “stay in your car” until such time that we invest in and provide safe cycling routes, shared pedestrian/cycle paths, traffic calmed areas approaching schools and a safe place to lock bikes at school.
A glance at weekly court reports provides enough evidence to back up why I would not encourage any parent/carer to send their child to school on a bike.
