IT IS perhaps fortunate that I can illustrate two topical events from the recent past this week. These are, firstly that it is Mothering Sunday, and secondly that the main article on the Nostalgia page of the Bucks Free Press features a highly decorated long-time local resident. But what is the connection you may ask.
The answer is the parish of Hedsor, near Bourne End. The only pictures showing Mothering Sunday traditions on the SWOP website, which is the source of all the pictures included this week, take place in St Nicholas the parish church of Hedsor, and the resident lived at nearby Hedsor Priory.
