A police officer was bitten on the thigh as he tried to break up a nine-person brawl in a pub in Prestwood at the weekend. 

Police were called to the Chequers Tree pub on the High Street at around 12.55am on Sunday morning (March 5) after a fight broke out among at least nine people. 

In the fight, two men suffered facial injuries while another had a bitten finger. 

All three men were taken to Stoke Mandeville Hospital but their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. 

A police officer was also taken to hospital after being bitten on his thigh but has now been discharged.

Three women, who were also victims in the fight, were not injured.

Three men have been arrested in connection with the incident. 

A 59 year-old man from Holmer Green and a 25 year-old man from Watford were arrested on suspicion of ABH and violent disorder and are currently on bail until April 5.

An 18 year-old man from Stevenage was arrested on suspicion of GBH, ABH, battery and violent disorder and has been bailed until May 5.

Investigating officer, Det Con Rebekah Tyler from Aylesbury Force CID, said: “It's believed that there may have been a disagreement over a taxi shortly before the incident, and we are currently working to ascertain the exact circumstances of what took place.

"We would appeal to anyone who witnessed the altercation or was involved to please come forward."
