BEN Smith began his quest to become Junior ABA Champion with a unanimous points victory in the final of the Home Counties Championship.
The High Wycombe Boxing Club star won the national title by beating Nick Tipler in December and he is on the national hunt again now.
He met Cheshunt’s Zak Dellar in a repeat of last year’s final, and the bout followed the same course with Smith securing the victory.
Smith showed glimpses of his class with good footwork and combination punches, and will be glad of the action as he warms up for the pre quarter-final against the as yet undecided Western Counties champion.
Meanwhile, the High Wycombe are adding extra classes on Saturday mornings at 11am.
The sessions are a mix of boxing training cardio, strength and conditioning circuits.
