Marlow golfer Tyrrell Hatton has missed the cut at the Malaysian Open after two tough rounds in Kuala Lumpur.

The 23-year-old finished five-over for the tournament after following up yesterday’s round of 75 with a 74 on Friday.

Hatton’s hopes of climbing the leader board were dealt a blow early in his second round as he bogeyed the first two holes.

A birdie on the par five fifth briefly raised his hoped but two more bogeys on the back nine ended his chances of making the cut.

Graeme McDowell had led the way after 18 holes but was overhauled by Alejnadro Canizares and Lee Westwood who now share the lead.

Hatton now has the best part of three weeks to work on his game before he touches down in South Africa for the Joburg Open on February 26.
