HIGH Wycombe Cycling Club's Dave Johnson led a club trio to victory in the Antelope Cycling Club's 25 mile hilly circuit time trial held over a tough course at Hampstead Norris last weekend.
Johnsons time of 1hour, 3 minutes, 49 seconds earned him a splendid third place overall, he was the fastest veteran and took maximum points to kick off his quest for this season's National Veteran Circuit Title, a title which he won last season.
Along with Colin Fury who recorded 1.6.48. and Steve Pulley (1.14.55) the Wycombe clinched an excellent team victory.
The previous afternoon their chances of a team win in the Antelope CC open ten mile time trial were blown away when Johnson punctured and was forced to retire.
