BEACONSFIELD Sycob moved to the top of the Evo Stik Southern League Central Division - albeit for only 24 hours - with a 2-0 win over newly-promoted Kings Langley.
Monday night’s victory followed hot on the heels of Saturday’s impressive 1-1 draw at last season’s beaten play-off finalists Barton Rovers when they came from behind to earn a draw thanks to a leveller from new signing Rob Gerrard.
The twin results represent a great start to the season for new boss Geoff Warner who handed opening day debuts to Andy Dean (Ascot United), Tristan Campbell (Highmoor IBIS), Aaron Minhas (Windsor FC) and Gerrard (Birmingham City).
The Rams followed up Saturday’s point with a comfortable win on Monday. They took the lead on 16 minutes when a shot by the lively Charlie Losasso was palmed away by Kings keeper Anthony Ladyman but only into the path of Elliott Carey who made no mistake with his shot.
Captain Lee Togwell then doubled the lead two minutes before half time.
