Beaconsfield RFC began their season with a 14-5 win over Swindon College on a day they celebrated off the field as well.
The match coincided with former Wasps and Scotland player Hugo Southwell opening Becky’s new clubhouse extension and the team made sure they kept the party mood going.
Feeding off the feel-good factor Jack Beard went over for an early try which he converted himself to open up a 7-0 lead which was trimmed back to 7-5 after a spell of sustained Swindon pressure.
But that was the only score Beaconsfield allowed their opponents to have and the hosts stretched their advantage when they made good use of their back line to feed Connor O'Brian on the wing to go over for a try which was also converted.
