Four members of High Wycombe ABC have been in action at the National Novice Championships and a Home Counties match up.
Middleweight Amar Keyani got the national championships off to a flying start for the club as he stopped his opponent, Michael Wilcock, after just 20 seconds with a clinically executed right overhand.
Lightweight Lewis Frimpong then matched the efforts of Keyani as he got payback against Chris Bellotti of South Oxhey Boxing Club.
Bellotti had recently beaten Frimpong but was knocked down in the first round as the High Wycombe man recorded a unanimous points decision.
Samuel Trew was unlucky to be drawn against tournament favourite Joshua White in the welterweight division and despite a brave effort came up short.
Elsewhere, Jamie Smith had the honour of representing the Home Counties in Guernsey and came out a unanimous winner against his considerably larger heavyweight adversary James Walton.
Smith’s energetic style proved too much for Walton, who struggled to get near his opponent despite having a significant reach advantage.
