In the Bucks Squash League Division One Wycombe Squash and Racket Club (WSRC) recorded their first win of the season against Beaconsfield Bears.

Neither side had won a game heading into the match and the Bears are now the sole competitors in the league without a victory.

Simon Miller got WSRC off to a strong start as he won his match against Nic Manley 3-1 before Stefan Lubek used all his experience to claw Beaconsfield level with a 3-1 win over Freddie Evans.

From that point on though Wycombe were the dominant side as George Goodchild won 3-1, Stuart Burnett beat Mark Treadwell 3-0 and Mike Hallett sealed the result with a 3-2 defeat of Simon Rodwell.

In League Two Beaconsfield Bulls kept up the chase on league leaders Chesham Bois Mavericks as they moved up to second with a 16-6 win against RAF.

Wycombe Nomads played host to Farnham Common and won 16-9 in a close fought encounter to move up to fourth in the table.

Matt Allanson and Goff Power got the ball rolling with 3-0 and 3-1 wins while Duncan Swallow won a dramatic five set match 3-2 against Ian Burge to seal the bonus point.

With the match already settled Common hit back with Matt Davis and Mark Brown both scoring Impressive wins.

Wycombe are now 28 points behind third place Holmer Green Seconds but do have games in hand over their rivals.

Holmer Green’s Thirds moved to the front of a pack of six teams to go top of Division Three with an easy 19-3 win over Chesham 1879.

The WSRC coached John Hampden Grammar School under-15s team won the group stage of the National Schools Squash Competition after beating Aylesbury Grammar School 3-2.

Hampden’s lower order fought back after Aylesbury had taken an early advantage as both teams qualified from their group and will now advance to the knockout stages.

In the Berkshire Division 2A Temple Wycombe moved in front of the University’s second team with maximum 20-6 triumph over Aldermaston.

Petr Nedzarilik produced an outstanding display as he fought back from two sets and a match point down to win his tie 3-2.

Matt Allanson had a far more relaxing day as he wrapped up his second 3-0 win of the week while Jon Ould matched Allanson’s result and Scott Osbourne and Simon Miller both won 3-2.

It was a score line that slightly flattered Temple as they somehow managed to prevent a decent Aldermaston side from having a greater say in proceedings.
