Micklefield Judo Club (MJC) enjoyed another medal laden weekend as they competed at the Southern Area British Schools Qualifier.
MJC came away from the competition, which was held in Gillingham, with two gold medals, two silvers and a bronze.
Jesse Chraniuk and Bun Phalasan were the standout performers as they picked up a gold medal each.
Phalasan’s success saw him join Joe Chraniuk in qualifying for the British Schools Championships in April.
The training partners both compete in the 50kg year eight and nine category and will be looking forward to the Championships, which are set to be held at the Institute for Sport in Sheffield.
The pair fought twice over the course of the weekend with Phalasan just beating Chraniuk to the gold medal in the final.
Joe Chraniuk joined Sam Elliot in collecting the club’s silver medals and Kim Day completed an impressive event for MJC with her bronze.
