Three Bucks racers will be dreaming of success as they line up for the opening race of the 2016 MSA British Touring Car Championships (BTCC) on Sunday.

Matt Simpson, Tom Ingram and Jack Goff, who are from Iver, Wycombe and Stokenchurch respectively, will be part of the 32 strong field at Brands Hatch.

The BTCC is renowned for its entertaining racing which sees drivers pass perilously close to each other in highly modified versions of everyday street cars.

Simpson and Ingram are both racing for Speedworks Motorsport while Goff will represent Team IHG Rewards Club.

The trio will have to overcome last year’s champion Gordon Shedden who claimed the title in dramatic fashion last October.

Shedden is expecting a tough fight to hold onto top spot though and is taking nothing for granted ahead of the season opener.

“I don’t think anybody knows where anybody is until we get to qualifying at Brands Hatch on Saturday,” he said. “We have got 32 very capable cars.”

Goff will be hopeful of improving on a strong performance in lasts season’s championship which saw him finish ninth, while Ingram will be looking to improve on his 13th placed finish.
