Wycombe Wanderers have confirmed that they have offered an improved contract to defender Aaron Pierre following further negotiations with the player and his representatives.
The centre-half joined the Chairboys from Brentford in 2014, and has gone on to make 149 appearances for the club in that time.
Manager Gareth Ainsworth said: “Aaron has been a fantastic player for us and has shown himself to be one of the best defenders in the division.
“He has always given his all in a Wycombe shirt, and a player of his calibre is one that every manager wants inside his dressing room.
“Following lengthy negotiations, we have tabled a new deal to Aaron and his representatives which is now left for them to consider again. There is an opportunity here for him to help us achieve something next year and we would love him to be a part of that.
“Aaron is an ambitious person and wants to play at the highest possible level and we know that he will be keeping his options open.
“All attention is on next season and we will have a squad raring to go when they come back at the end of June. Hopefully with a few additions to mould alongside the quality we already have, we’ll be ready to go.”
