Defenders Sido Jombati and Adam El-Abd could be back for Tuesday’s crunch clash with Luton Town.

Despite Wanderers’ terrific recent form, manager Gareth Ainsworth has had to contend with a severe injury crisis in defence but the problems look to be easing in that department with the scheduled return of Jombati and El-Abd.

Dan Scarr and Middlesbrough loanee Nathan McGinley have been forged a great partnership but the experience of Jombati and El-Abd will be vital.

Ainsworth said: “It will be nice having defenders back and having cover will make a big difference.

“The likes of Adam and Sido are very close. Anthony Stewart and Will De Havilland and with another weekend free it is going to help with the injury management.

“I am expecting a real battle at Luton and having everyone fit and close to a full squad to choose from is going to be important.

“We will probably be one or two short still but I think the majority of the boys will be ready for that one.”
