BLUES managing director Steve Hayes could stop bankrolling the club in two years if plans for a new stadium are blocked.
Speaking at the club's Fans Forum yesterday evening, Hayes said funding would be available for the next two seasons but that he would make a decision at the end of this season regarding the scale of investment for year two.
He warned that Wanderers is not sustainable as it is and if it could not be scaled up would have to be scaled down', which means settling for being a League Two or Conference side.
Hayes said that from 1989 to 1996 the club was on an upward trend, but since then had levelled out. He believes the club could be on the verge of another upward trend.
He said: "We have a window of opportunity, and that window is now."
