Beaconsfield Town FC lost 2-0 against Tiverton Town on Saturday at Holloways Park as they slumped to their first loss of the season.

The visiting side came away with a well-deserved three points despite playing with ten men for 84 minutes of the game.

In the first ever meeting between the clubs it was the Rams who started the brightest, with a second minute shot from Charlie Losasso turned away by the Tiverton keeper, followed sixty seconds later by Jordan Ajanlekoko’s header going just over the bar.

The first half continued to bring the drama when six minutes into the game, Tiverton’s Harry Evans was shown a straight red card for a foul on Mayowa Balogun, reducing the away side to ten men.

In light of the reduced away side, the Rams continued to dominate with a tenth minute effort from Brendan Matthews, saved by the keeper, whilst Lossasso’s follow up was cleared off the line.

If either had gone in it could have been a totally different game, however, the visitors regrouped, and when The Rams defence missed a long ball, it was pounced upon, putting Tiverton a goal up at half time.

The second period saw Beaconsfield continue to ask questions of the Tiverton defence but they were denied each time by a solid Tiverton keeper.

The visitors made sure of the win, with an excellent finish in the 78th minute when The Rams failed to clear their lines.

Despite the numerical disadvantage Tiverton defended superbly across the park and deserved to take all three points back to Devon.

Regardless of the score line, Beaconsfield can be pleased with their performances in this league so far, and should put in action the lessons learnt this week in their next game against Walthamstow on Saturday, September 8 in the FA Cup, 3pm kick off.
