Wanderers defender Joe Jacobson has admitted he would love to reach more appearance milestones with Wycombe after making his 200th appearance for the club on Saturday.

Jacobson scored from the spot after Craig Mackail-Smith had been fouled by Kyle McFadzean to set the Blues on their way to a 2-1 victory over Burton Albion.

When asked if he was targeting another 200 appearances at the club, Jacobson said: "I would like to, why not.

"That would take me to 35 or 36. When I first started playing football I used to look at players playing 400 games in their career and I thought that was a ridiculous amount of games.

"I think I have gone past 450 in total and then 500 is a massive achievement and hopefully I can get to that and anything after that is a bonus."

Jacobson coolly dispatched a penalty past Burton keeper Dimitar Evtimov in the first half and admitted he used his usual tactic of waiting as late as possible to make his mind up.

He added: "It was a strange one here as I didn't think about penalties at all for this game.

"It didn't cross my mind here. I don't know if it was to focus on putting in a good performance today but I didn't think about it at all.

"I got the ball and their keeper is a big guy so I just hit it low and hard and thankfully he dived the wrong way and it went in the corner."

Jacobson admitted how much he loves Wycombe and he praised boss Gareth Ainsworth for his continued support.

He said: "When I first joined the gaffer and Dobbo [Richard Dobson] worked so hard to bring me here.

"I have meetings with the gaffer throughout the time here. We have a great relationship and I love playing for him and being here.

"I have never played for one club for so long and we have a great bunch of boys who all love playing for the team and that is really special.

"I haven't been at a club when the gaffer and assistant make sure everyone is on track with each other and it is a great place to be."
