Marlow thrashed rivals Chipstead 4-0 with one of the best performances of the season in the Bostik South Central Division on Saturday

Having scored twice in Tuesday’s 4-1 defeat of Hanwell Town, Kameron English went one better in scoring a hat-trick and his goals along with a late fourth from Marcus Mealing saw the Blues complete one of their best performances of the season to date, to take the points and move up to third in the league table.

The early minutes of the game proved to be a busy period for Simon Grant in the home goal and so it remained up to the quarter hour mark and then the award of a penalty to Marlow following a burst of pace from Isaac Osei-Tutu led to the opening goal with English firing home from the penalty spot. This seemed to herald a marked upturn in the performance of the Blues and a second goal followed 6 minutes later with Kamaron stretching to reach and control a cross from the left, pulling the ball down and again finding the net to make it 2-0.

That’s how it stayed with Marlow playing some excellent football until the 78th minute when Marcus Mealing played a pinpoint through ball for English to take round the out-coming keeper and deposit in the vacant net to complete his hat-trick and make the scoreline a seemingly comfortable 3-0.

So it proved with Allen Bossman winning a challenge on the edge of the away box and sliding a low cross into the path of Mealing who was centrally positioned and had the comfortable task of finding the net from close-in to complete the scoring - with another clean sheet enhancing the result for Simon Grant at the other end.

Marlow hope to keep up their excellent recent form when they travel to Egham Town on Saturday (3pm).
