Wycombe match-winner Alex Samuel backed the Blues to surprise a lot more teams this season as they jumped to 10th in League One thanks to their 2-1 win over Accrington Stanley.

Samuel slammed home a glorious goal deep in injury time to inspire his side to their third win in four games in November.

And with that, the Chairboys cemented their place in the top half for another 11 days at least and former Stevenage striker Samuel thinks Wycombe can keep continuing to upset the applecart.

He said: "We are a good team and if we keep doing what we are doing then I think we can surprise a lot of teams for the rest of the season.

"It is just unbelievable. The ball bounced around in the box and nobody reacted so I thought I would put my foot through it and it rifled into the net.

"These are the reasons why we play and it was a really special moment."

With 13 minutes to go, the Blues were behind but Scott Kashket's equaliser paved the way for Samuel to step up and smash in the winner to spark wild scenes amongst the Wycombe faithful.

Samuel added: "We never give up and that is credit to everyone.

"We weren't at it in the first half and we have so much character. If we keep it 1-0 we are always in the game.

"We changed it at half-time and pressed higher and they couldn't really play then.

"I am just delighted to play. I love this club and to score like that in front of the fans is what football is all about."
