Wycombe Wanderers boss Gareth Ainsworth insists he is "very happy" at Adams Park despite rumours of interest in the vacant managerial post at Championship strugglers Reading.

Ainsworth, 45, is the second longest serving manager in the country and sees his side currently sit ninth in League One after promotion from League Two last season.

Despite the report of interest and appearing in bookies lists for the job, Ainsworth explained he is currently very happy in his role as he continues to work miracles at Wycombe.

He said: "I am flattered to be linked with a Championship club like Reading and like any manager from the lower leagues, of course I want to manage at a higher level.

“However, I am very happy to continue to be Wycombe manager and whether the links are hear-say or not, I am very happy to be here.

“I love being manager of this football club and I am hoping to continue here for as long as possible.”

Bolton boss Phil Parkinson is currently odds-on favourite for the job at a club where has ties.
