Marlow FC, Chalfont St Peter and Amersham Town all managed to beat the weather this week with all three games going ahead, however none of them managed to beat the opposition.

Marlow were beaten 3-1 at home to Waltham Abbey, Chalfont fell 2-0 away to Ashford Town and Amersham were humbled at Langford with a 4-1 defeat.

Marlow were hoping to go four points clear at the top of the Bostik League South Central Division but fell behind within ten minutes to Billy Holland’s goal and then found themselves two goals down by the 27th courtesy of Ross Dedman.

James Clark pulled out back with 15 minutes to go but all hopes of a late Marlow fight back were crushed when Timothy Ogunrinde made it 3-1 six minutes later.

Marlow remain top but only by a point with second place Hayes & Yeading United having three games in hand.

Chalfont St Peter also found themselves a goal behind in the opening 15 minutes of their Bostik League South Central Division game when James Cottee scored to give Ashford an early lead.

Nebay Haile doubled the homes sides advantage four minutes before the break and comfortably saw out the second half leaving St Peter cemented to 15th place.

Marlow and Chalfont next face each other in the league at Mill Meadow on Saturday (3pm) both teams looking to get back to winning ways.

Amersham had another disappointing weekend in the Spartan South Midlands Football League - Division One as they made the trip to Langford in blizzard-like conditions.

The home side took the lead on 25 minutes, as Charlie Rome got to the ball first and fired beneath David Turner in the Amersham goal. Bertie Squires-Adams equalised two minutes after but that was as good as it got for Town.

Two minutes into the second half Rome got his second. With the players tiring, Langford took full advantage with Josh Bamford making it 3-1 before quickly getting a second to make the final score 4-1.

The result leaves Town in 18th place five points behind 17th placed Risborough Rangers but do have the advantage of a game in hand over their local rivals.

Amersham travel to Rayners Lane this Saturday (3pm).
