Penn and Tylers Green manager Gareth Williams was delighted to see his side chalk up an excellent 4-3 win over Woodley United on Tuesday evening in their Hellenic League Division One East clash at Spratleys Meadow.

Rashid Hamid and Pritpal Raju were amongst the goals who followed their Wallingford win with another thrilling victory.

Williams explained he felt the attitude throughout his side was spot on against their league rivals.

He said: "I am very pleased we managed to follow up our Wallingford performance.

"The attitude of the lads was excellent and it was great to see Rashid Hamid and Pritpal Raju get the goals.

"Woodley are a very impressive side so to beat them is a really good result.

"I have felt we have always got goals in the locker and hopefully we can kick on now."

Williams feels a number of factors have seen his side hit form, most notably the fact that he has been able to bring experience into the squad.

He added: "We have always had a talented squad but not a lot of experience in there. In the past couple of weeks I have managed to bring in players with experience and they have binded together really well with the younger guys."

Next up for Penn is a home game against Abingdon Town on Saturday (3pm) and Williams is expecting a tricky test.

He said: "We played them a few weeks ago and they are a very hard to play against. They are a very unorthodox team but the lads are playing with confidence and we are playing well at Spratleys Meadow.

"The facilities are good and it is one of the best pitches in the division from what I have seen so we are keen to keep our good run going."
