Risborough Rangers' recent good form took a sudden jolt when they lost 3-2 away at Brimsdown their South Midlands League Division One encounter.

Brimsdown took the lead on 20 minutes but this spurred the visitors on and they were unlucky when Martin Griggs' 30 yard effort hit the bar before Jason Costello also hit the woodwork from close in just before the break.

Brimsdown came out with all guns blazing at the beginning of the second half and scored a brace within the first 10 minutes. Rangers now had to roll their sleeves up and after camping virtually for the last half an hour of the game in the opponents half, Risborough's Marcus Wyllie reduced the deficit with 10 minutes remaining on the clock with a fantastic shot.

With only five minutes to go and after an infringement in the area, Risborough were awarded a penalty which Griggs smashed home to give the visitors hope of at least a point.

But time was running out as Rangers moved forward with wave after wave of attacks to look for an equaliser. However, it was to no avail as the referee blew for full time.raw.

After a lot of pressure and numerous chances in this match including a class save from Brimsdown's glovesman to keep a Ben Cullen header out, Mark Eaton, the Rangers manager, will be looking for a reaction next time out.

This Saturday, Risborough entertain Broxbourne Borough in the South Midlands League Division One (kick off 3pm).
