Alex Hales has been made to wait for his first England appearance on tour in the West Indies as Monday's third one-day international in Grenada was abandoned due to rain.
Hales was drafted in for Ben Stokes, who was left out due to an ankle concern, and was due to bat at number five in the order.
Former Chesham Grammar School student Hales has seen his place at the top of the order taken by Jonny Bairstow in recent months and the Yorkshire batsman has been hugely impressive in that role.
Hales may miss out on Wednesday with Stokes expected to be fit again but he will be a key figure in the T20 side which follows the one-day series.
With the World Cup in England coming up this summer, Hales will be keen to convince the selectors that he is worthy of a place in the starting line-up and will hope that his form in the white-ball game is stellar going into May.
