Tyrrell Hatton's decent run of form faltered at the weekend as he missed the cut at The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass in Florida.

Hatton didn't make it to the weekend as he missed the cut at four over par after a steady run of results in prior tournaments on the PGA Tour.

The 27-year-old has now dropped to 37th in the world rankings as a result of the missed cut.

The former Great Marlow School student will now be competing in the Valspar Championship at the Copperhead Course in Florida this week.

It is a chance for Hatton to revive some of his good early season play and get back on track ahead of a tilt at the US Masters next month at Augusta National in Georgia.

After this, Hatton will be returning to a match play format as the best 64 players in the world get set to do battle at the WGC-World Matchplay at Austin Country Club in Texas.
